BCBG MAX AZRIA SPACE
Milan, Italy, 2000-2001, 2,000 sq.m.

Formerly a movie theatre in the centre of the city, the space was first renovated by this firm.
A number of years later, we were approached by the new owners of the complex, to renovate and refurbish it into a clothing shop and restaurant. We re-designed the opening of a large triple height atrium at the center of the structure giving a powerful identity to the project. New structural changes included making the entrance of the restaurant into a separate shop, opening a new staircase to the restaurant from within the shop itself, and adding a second interior staircase to access the mezzanine of the shop.
In addition, an existing floor slab was demolished to create a double height at the entrance.
These improved the dimensions and flow of the overall space, created better circulation, thereby increasing active sales space.
